Dairy entries from the Austrian students

Monday: The students arrived at the school for the first time and we started the day by playing some „get to know each other“ games. After that Turkey, Italy and my country Austria held some presentations which helped us to get know them and their culture a bit more. We also held a school tour in our individual international groups. After a coffee break the French, the Croatian and Spanish team did their presentations.

During the lunch break all the groups went to the mall in Westbahnhof together. It was a really good opportunity to get to know some of them more outside of the Erasmus program. We finished the day by starting to write e-Books in our groups. With that the official day ended but Nika, Meldy and I took the Croatian, Spanish and one of girls from the French group to Donauzentrum which was tiring but still fun. Tuesday: Today was our 2nd day in the SMART project. The day started with a really funny and entertaining Kahoot quiz where the top three winners also got sweet prizes. After that, we learned more about the traditions of each country. All of the presentations were really well made. The day continued with a lunch break, where almost every student had an amazing time in Mariahilferstraße. Then after our tummies were full, we continued working on our eBooks. The day ended with a heartwarming goodbye. (Beytullah 6e)

Wednesday: Today was our third day in the SMART project. We met with the international groups at 8 o’clock and then we went to a dancing studio together. We learned the waltz. We also did fun activities to get to know each other better. In the lunch break we went to Millennium City with some other students for lunch. After an update on the ebooks, the international guests went to a museum or sightseeing. (Amal, 6e)

Thursday: At 8:30 we all – students and teachers – gathered at the school and finished our e-books. After a short break, the e-books were presented.  Finally, all of the participants got their certificates. We took pictures together and went to a traditional Austrian restaurant for lunch. Students once again had the opportunity to see the traditional Austrian clothes worn by the staff and try the delicious Wiener Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn. After lunch we could go home but a lot of us in small groups ended up in Prater. (Nika 6e)

Firday: Today was our last day in the SMART project. We met in front of the hostel and drove to Stephansplatz where we were divided up in two groups. One group went to the Time Travel and the other group was led through the first district by a tour guide and then we switched up. Time Travel was really fun for me too because it was my first time there. After we finished both, we went to the Schönbrunn Palace where the tour ended. After lunch we had to say goodbye to our new friends. (Rina, 6e)
